The Lewes Concert Orchestra was formed in 1993 by Russell Morgan at the request of Lewes Town Council to perform concerts of popular classical music for the people of Lewes. The Orchestra has performed three concerts a year at the Lewes Town Hall ever since. In December 2005 Russell Morgan retired and Adrian Shepherd became the orchestra's second artistic director, until his death in July 2013, when Ian McCrae became Conductor. In 2012 Lisa Wigmore became the fifth leader of the orchestra.
